Launched in 2012, the Brighton & Hove Living Wage Campaign aims to encourage local businesses to voluntarily pay all employees the real Living Wage instead of the government’s national minimum.
Set independently and updated annually the Living Wage is calculated according to the basic cost of living in the UK and is the amount that allows a person to live a decent life and not just survive.
The new rate is announced every November during Living Wage week and businesses are given until 1st April to implement the new rate which is currently £9.50 per hour.
Our aim is to support and encourage local businesses to voluntarily commit to paying their employees the Living Wage.
If you are already paying the Living Wage you can sign up here to show your commitment and then display a Brighton & Hove Living Wage logo on your premises, marketing materials and website.
We are passionate about unlocking potential and having positive social impact. We believe the Living Wage is a crucial aspect for helping communities to thrive.

We are proud to be committed to the Living Wage Campaign, paying a fair wage in an area with such a high cost of living. Our small team work extremely hard to alleviate food poverty for the community’s most vulnerable which must be exchanged for a sustainable salary.

We support the Living Wage because we want to create a different culture where our staff feel valued as part of the Kindling Community and are paid a decent wage in exchange for being exceptional members of our team that care, feel valued and are proud to represent the Kindling values.
