Food Matters
Food Matters, based in Brighton is a national food policy and advocacy charity. We encourage and support change towards sustainable, fair food systems. We believe we all have our parts to play in taking action to create change within our food system, from communities, third-sector organisations and business through to local and national government. Being part of the Living Wage campaign helps us demonstrate our commitment to meaningful well-paid work as crucial to accessing healthy food.
Why do you support the Living Wage?
We believe in paying a living wage to our employees and also in encouraging all employers to sign up to the campaign. Access to good food is an underpinning principle of our work – and we know that today in the UK many people are struggling to find enough money to buy food on a daily basis. Paying people a living wage means people will have more money available to buy good food for their families.
