Home-Start East Sussex

Home-Start East Sussex (HSES) is a small local independent registered charity and company limited by guarantee. We are affiliated to Home-Start UK and SafeLives who provide us with policy guidance and quality standards. Currently, HSES runs four services, each with a focus on the safety and well-being:

(i) Lotus domestic abuse recovery programme to help women victim-survivors of domestic abuse recovery and keep themselves and their children safe in future relationships

(ii) Who’s in Charge? programme for parents experiencing adolescent to parent abuse and violence

(iii) Being Mum programme for new first time Mums to talk through the changes and challenges they face and support with mother-baby attachment

(iv) volunteer home-visiting service supporting vulnerable families with preschool children

Why do you support the Living Wage?

HSESs CEO and trustees recognise that the National (Living) Wage does not take into account the cost of living. We believe that our valued staff - and all people - should not have have to work multiple jobs to make ends meet as it forces them to spend less time with their families, lowers their quality of life, makes them less productive at work and damages their physical and mental health. We realise we need to embody the changes we want to see in the world. Taking a stand will put pressure on other charities, businesses and government to do the same.
