YMCA DownsLink Group is a charity that works to prevent youth homelessness across Sussex and Surrey. Through our youth advice centre, community and school counselling services, family mediation and other services, we provide additional support to 9,000 children, young people and families each year. Our aim is to prevent young people from reaching crisis and to support them at this crucial stage in their lives so that can fulfil their potential.
Why do you support the Living Wage?
YMCADLG support the living wage campaign as it is a means to lift workers out of poverty and reduce income inequality. It allows our staff to afford a better quality of life, providing for their families and contributing to their communities. It ensures that our staff receive a wage that covers basic living expenses. We believe that paying a living wage can contribute to increased job satisfaction and productivity among workers.
