Brighton charities lead the way for the living wage

So far 42 third sector organisations have signed up to the local Living Wage Campaign which is led by Brighton Chamber.

Currently set at £8.45 per hour for the UK, the wage is calculated as the minimum needed for a basic standard of living.

One of the most recent charities to join the campaign is The Goodall Foundation.

Eugenie Teasley said “We believe that everyone deserves to be paid fairly for their work, including in the charity sector. Asides from being a Living Wage employer we also proactively seek out Living Wage companies locally and nationally for services we require, and we try to support charitable organisations we partner with to pay Living Wage where possible through projects we fund.”

To have a look at the other charities that have already made the pledge, visit our employer directory and search under ‘third sector’.

If you’re committed to paying the Living Wage to your employees, sign up to the campaign today.

It’s free to sign up and only takes a couple of minutes to complete the form. The benefits to staff are obvious but you’ll benefit too, with an entry in our website directory promoting your organisation.
